Marrakech → Oukaimeden
Oukaimeden sits at 2,600 metres and is Africa's best-known ski station, an hour and a half of switchbacks above the Ourika turn-off. The climb is the reason to take a driver who does it regularly: it is narrow, it ices over in January, and the last section is no place to learn the road.

Ski season runs roughly January to March, and the resort is worth the drive in summer for the plateau and the rock carvings.
Equipment hire is available at the resort, so you do not need to carry skis up from the city.
The temperature difference from Marrakech is 15 to 20 degrees. Dress for the mountain, not the medina.
